- Features velvet lining on the inside and a sturdy j-hinge to facilitate opening and closing
- Northern Thai lacquerware is well known to collectors worldwide
- Lacquerware is created by carving mango wood with expertise and applying the black resin of the 'Lak' tree as coating to give it a fine finish and luster
- Each piece receives a sever-layer coat of lacquer and takes two months to complete
- Natural pigments are used in the hand-etched designs
